We will kick off the new year with our long-standing waterfall day, hitting Caney Falls and Kinlock Falls in Bankhead.
Let's shoot for January 8th with January 15th being our bad weather back-up.
Meet at the Trading Post in Wren, at the end of 36, at 10 a.m.
Bring lunch, water, wear GOOD shoes, you may want a walking stick.  Dress in layers and bring your cameras.  This is the best time of year for water flow and the falls will be beautiful.

Chinese New Year is January 26th, it is the Year of the Ox.
We will have lunch here at my house followed by hiking to the ridge that afternoon if the weather is decent.
Be here by 11, I will send food suggestions as people sign up.

February 12
11 a.m.
2.5 mile hike at Blevin's Gap, this is a hearty hike with a long drop off the mountain followed by a climb back up.
We will take an easy pace, so don't worry.  I will probably be half-dead by the top myself, there are no elite atheletes around here.
We will have an optional late lunch at Red Robin.


February 23rd
is our annual trip to Cherokee Rock Village along with a quick stop at High Falls Park.
We will meet at the Town Creek picnic area on Guntersville Lake at 9 a.m.
Bring food, water and wear good shoes and clothes you and your kids can climb around in.

March 12th

Hurricane Creek Hike
Meet at Hurricane Creek Park on 36 between Hartselle and Cullman.
Wear good walking shoes, plan for a 2 mile easy hike, the short climb out is strenuous.

March 26th
Road Trip
Meet at the 278/231 intersection at 8:30 a.m.
We will head to Cheaha, Alabama's highest point for a great view.
There is a $2 per person park fee
After taking in the view, climbing the tower and having a picnic at the lake (with playground) we will take a short hike to Devil's Den Falls
There should be some wildflowers up.
