Welcome to our school's website!
We were doing a web search the other day and came across a 'school' website
with photos of the school and a schedule and teacher information. The kids were
flabbergasted about HOW they knew what days they would have off and what days
they HAD to be there a whole year ahead, but beyond that, they thought we really
needed a school web page, too.
We thought it over and decided to do this section.
We call ourselves Northfield Academy
Here is our school. Well, our base school. This is our house from the back pasture, this picture was taken in early spring.

This is the anti-living room. There used to be couches and such in here, but
our house is small and we decided it would be better used as creative space.

Here is the bookshelf you see the end
of in the above photo.
It holds a few reference books, our paperwork and some physical science books.

The corner shelf holds paperbacks,
our rock collection, the dog goodies and tucked behind it are several large
dry erase boards for drawing game boards, making lists, and so on.
Up near the top is a tiny spirit house.

The shelves on the left holds math, art and history books, the one on the right has all of our life science books.

This is the art center with the fort
in the background.
There are all the art supplies needed for most projects in the shelves and drawers
of the desks and outside on the porch are the paints and clay.

The main kid computer, they have a
laptop of thier own as well.
I put a bulletin board on the back of the green bookshelf to make more display
space.

The new fort! It still needs a proper ladder, but underneath where the white canvas is, there is a clubhouse with pocket-lined walls and a small corkboard and dry erase board on the rear wall. The pegboard wall blocks the wood stove and provides some storage for 2 large plastic bins. The shelf on the top is bolted in place and gives some storage space while keeping the kids from falling off while they lounge up there.
Across the room from the fort is open floor space for playing and another bulletin board for art display is on the wall.
Boys' dorm bunks
with nifty reading lamps! : )
