We went camping at the Foster Falls Small Wild Area outside Tracy City, TN. We camped at the very nice TVA campground, $16 per night (2007) with water and a clean bathhouse with hot showers. No electricty, pets allowed on leash, trash can, fire pit, picnic table and ample parking at each site. One handicap-only site (17) and the outside-loop sites are all big and widely-spread.
We camped in site 16, our friends in 15. There was ample brush coverage and plenty of space between the two sites so each family had privacy. The sites backed up to the woods and the camground only had 2 other campers, so I let Jessie and Kuma run around off-leash a couple times a day.
Though there is hiking and swimming galore in the area, both families felt a bit lazy that weekend and ended up going to Grundy Lake Saturday for a picnic and taking a short hike to the base of Foster Falls that evening. We headed back home after breakfast on Sunday. It was a wonderful and relaxing weekend, we plan to go back soon.

The campsite had plenty of space for parking, the big tent, tying out the dogs and having a fire and cooking/eating area all well-apart from each other. Lots of downed wood was available.

Swimming at Grundy Lake on Saturday

We got there early, no one else was around, so we let Jess off the lead to swim with the kids for a little while. She was soon back on her tie-down with Kuma and both snored in the shade the rest of the day.

Super Jess!

Sink or Swim, Siblings!

King of the dock!

Foster Falls from the base trail.
I saw a copperhead here.

It is so pretty in this whole area of Tennessee

The hike out had us ready for a cold drink and some hot food!

We had a great week of camping, but I think the kids are ready for some time at home!
