Now more than ever do I realize that I shall never be content with a sedentary life,
and that I shall always be haunted by thoughts of a sun-drenched elsewhere.

We made it home!  We left around 9:30 and got into our yard about 10:30, so a 14 hour trip taking into account the time change.
I think the trip went well, though I also think Disney has lost some of its appeal for us.  Or maybe nothing is ever as good as that first time, each ride and show losing a bit of magic with repetition.  Seeing more of Florida really got my interest up.  It's not nearly as dull and sandy as I have always thought.  Sure, the beach is pretty, but who wants to look at flat sand, flat horizons and waves all the time?  But they have more than that!  And I still have not gotten to see wild dolphins or go canoeing...

We are all glad to be home, glad to see our puppies and assorted cats, our beds and the happy jumble of our own things.  Nothing on the trip-seeing the ocean, wild manatees, being back in Disney, the fireworks, new rides-none of it got the reaction from the kids that waking up to see the front porch lit by the van's headlights did.
"We are home!  It's the house! Woo-hoo!"

No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.
